Chase Merriam’s turkey in Western Colorado! Colorado turkey hunting trips with Reverse 7 L Outfitters are conducted on private property along the Colorado River and various creek bottom and surrounding lands that feed the Colorado.

These unit 22, 32, 33 and 42 Colorado turkey hunts are conducted over 2 or 3 days. Optional additional days available to purchase. These hunts are fully guided, and we can handle groups of any size. Most hunts are from popup blinds over decoys.  For those looking for a little more excitement, spot and stalk with calling and decoys make for quite the exciting hunt.

Does Reverse 7 L Outfitters guide on public land?

No, we only guide Colorado turkey hunts on private land in game management units listed above.

What is the minimum poundage for bows in Colorado?

The minimum poundage for bows in Colorado is 35 pounds.

Does Colorado have a minimum let-off on compound bows?

The let-off percentage shall not exceed 80%.

Can I use expandable broadheads?

Yes, Colorado allows the use of expandable broadheads for hunting. Broadheads, both expandable and fixed blade broadhead must have a minimum cutting diameter of 7/8 inch and 2 sharpened edges.

Does Reverse 7 L have trophy fees?

No. Harvest a jake or a longbeard and the price is the same.

What do I need to turkey hunt with Reverse 7L Outfitters?

Do I need to draw a spring or fall turkey tag to hunt with you?

No. All units that Reverse 7 L Outfitters guides you can purchase turkey tags over-the-counter.

How many guides hunt with me?

Turkey hunts are 2 x 1. This means you will have 2 hunters per 1 hunting guide. While hunts are based on 2×1, 1×1 guided hunts are available for an additional cost.

What is the typical weather during hunting season?

Weather during both fall and spring turkey seasons will vary. Expect mountain weather with cooler and possibly below freezing mornings with warm to hot afternoons.

Do I need to get acclimated to the elevation?

Not necessarily. Most turkey hunts take place over decoys, out of blinds and are lower in elevation. Around 4,500 to 6,000 feet.

What happens if I wound an animal?

If you draw blood on any turkey and do not recover it, your hunt is considered complete. Our goal is to have our hunters take responsible shots every time. Our guides make every effort to recover your animal.

Do we hunt turkeys over decoys?

Yes, most hunts take place in popup blinds or natural blinds over decoys.

What is the best time in Spring to book a hunt?

April is a great time to book your spring turkey hunt in Colorado. Gobblers are sounding off and getting ready to breed hens. Since we hunt private property only our birds are not pressured and the hunting is good from the beginning of April through the end of the season at the end of May.

What type of terrain should I expect to hunt?

We mainly hunt lower elevation land in the river bottoms.

How much is a turkey hunt?

What is your deposit and cancelation policy?

All hunts require a 50% deposit at time of booking to reserve a spot. Balance of the total fee due in cash, check, cashier’s check, or money order upon arrival at camp and prior to hunt. Deposits are non-refundable, though may be credited to a future hunt. All rates are per person and subject to change.

What is your clients opportunity rate?

Turkey season opportunity rates are very high. Reverse 7 L Outfitters hunts are 100% free chase so there are no guarantees. We go where the game goes, and will get you within your comfortable range, but we cannot pull the trigger for you. Plans change accordingly.

What size shotgun is recommended for turkey hunting?

We recommend the shotgun that you are most comfortable with. 20 Gauge, 12 Gauge or 10 Gauge will get the job done. We have plenty of room to shoot and sight in your shotgun if needed before your hunt.
