The White River National Forest in Colorado’s unit 42 boasts one of the largest elk herds in the state, and with most elk tags available over-the-counter for both residents and non-residents. If you are looking to hunt the draw only muzzleloader or rifle seasons you will have good luck with few to zero points. Terrain that we hunt in this unit ranges from 4,500 feet to 9,500 feet. We currently only offer private land elk hunts in Colorado.
From velvet bucks during the first of archery season to rutting bucks in November, we have a healthy herd of mule deer across our unit 42 hunting properties. With no over-the-counter tags available for mule deer, hunters will have to put in for the draw. Depending on the season, some of these hunts can be drawn with as little as 0 – 1 preference points. Over-The-Counter Seasons: Mule deer tags in this unit are not available over-the-counter. However, we do offer land vouchers.
Bo and the gang are top notch. I don’t know much but I know big wood from kindlin, and if your looking for an all but sure fire chance at drawing blood then you give these guys a shot.
